What the Decoder Does in the System

In an AV over IP architecture the decoder is the display-side endpoint. It joins the network, receives one or more streams from encoders, decodes them and drives the connected display. Because selection happens in software, operators can switch any source to any screen instantly — and a group of decoders can be coordinated to form a video wall.

Can multiple decoders form a single video wall?
Yes. Multiple QG-FBSR52K AV over IP decoders can be coordinated into one logical video wall over IP, with source windows positioned across the wall. This is the standard approach for video wall control room and operations center AV distribution deployments.
Is there a limit to how many sources one decoder can switch between?
Because routing is managed in software on the network rather than by a fixed-size switching chassis, a decoder can switch between any available AV over IP encoder on the network. The practical limit is set by network design and stream count, not by a hardware switch matrix size.
Does the decoder support KVM for a control room position?
Yes. The QG-FBSR52K supports KVM over IP at the operator position, enabling distributed KVM and command center KVM configurations where an operator views distributed video and controls remote machines from one desk.
